Light, packable, and seemingly simple to set up, the Uncharted Rapid Raft does look sleek and functional. However, it isn't the world's lightest packraft (to my knowledge that is held by
Supai Adventure Gear), and any company making claims that are obviously not true does make us question the legitimacy and quality of the product itself. Areas of immediate concern? If you've ever tried to fill up one of those
wind filled inflatable sofa chairs, you know how hard it can be to actually inflate fully. Yes, there is a mouth valve, but as it is a major design feature of the packraft, I'd be curious to see how it actually performs. Also, it's called the "Rapid Raft," which seems like a bit of a misnomer in and of itself as judging by its designs and materials, should by no means be its primary utility. Flatwater? Sure. Rapids? Hard pass...
