I use my Flowfold Stormproof Conductor 40L Duffle Bag nearly every day and LOVE it! I’ve been testing it for the last 6+ months. In that time, it’s become my go-to bag for just about everything.
I use this Flowfold duffle to pack my gym clothes, water bottle and showering items for twice-a-week circuit training. I use it to pack my ski gear when heading up to our local hill – helmet, goggle, gloves, etc. Now, as we’re rounding the bend toward summer, mountain biking and running gear is replacing ski gear.
I’ve also used it for travel. I took two desert camping trips this spring. The Flowfold duffle came along on both. I also made the mistake of offering it my husband to use for a trip (requiring plane travel) to go visit his parents. Now he’s vying for it. On the upside, I know what to get him for Father’s Day.
Here’s what I like about the Flowfold Duffle:
It’s a great size – not too small, not too big. It always seems to be able to accommodate everything I need to put into it, but it’s not unnecessarily bulky. It’s good for schlepping in and out of my car on a daily basis, as well as for using as an airline carryon.
It’s simple. It has the main compartment and then one small pocket on the outside. I like things that are streamlined and functional.
It’s durable and well-constructed. After several months of use it’s showing very little wear and tear. It’s made with X-Pac™ ultra lightweight fabric and ballistic nylon webbing.
It’s water resistant. It was no problem when I spilled my coffee on it. It just wiped right off. And I didn’t think twice when I carried it through sideways pouring rain.
- It’s USA made. Flowfold is a rad Maine company that started in a basement. Its first product was wallets made out of sailcloth.
I just asked my husband what he likes about the Flowfold Stormproof Conductor 40L Duffle Bag. Unprompted, he rattled off the five bullet points listed above, which I had already written. So, that’s a second endorsement.
I always try to find something that could be improved when writing gear reviews, but I’m honestly coming up a bit short with this duffle. At $97.99 it’s a bit pricey – so that could be a con. I also might like one small pocket on the inside of the duffle for keys and a phone. But that’s about all I’ve got.
