I've bought a few items from GGG in the past and have always been very satisfied. I recently messed up an order over a long holiday weekend. I knew it was a long shot but since it hadn't shipped yet, I gave it a try and emailed cust. service. I have never had a problem with anything in the past so I was not too sure how responsive they would be.
But Ben was able to catch it, correct it to what I wanted, and it will be here tomorrow.

I’ve used this site for years now, they got all the best ultra lite gear the big brand stores and sites never have. Good prices, good and fast shipping and no head aches. This business is also quick to respond over customer support email and such which is critical when on a long hike. And they have great quantity selection and price breaks on larger quantity orders like with the nyloflume bag liners. Can’t think of a bad thing to say about this site.

I signed up for my longest backpacking trip yet and was looking to find somewhere to buy upgraded ultralight (UL) gear for the first time. Love that I found this website where you can buy from small brands and in small quantities! I'm not trying to contribute to overconsumption and pay money to big brands when I don't absolutely have to, and finding GGG was incredible. You can order like one golf pencil for $0.30 and not be stuck with a pack of 50 from Amazon. I ordered the usual grab of ultralight gear for my upcoming JMT hike: kula cloth, dyneema bags, UL pillow, UL carabiners, toothpaste tablets, powder soap, power bank, etc. I think I got like 12 UL/ backpacking things for maybe like $150 during a sale?! Incredible! Once everything arrived, they had even thrown in a UL sit pad for me, which was great because I was planning to get one of these anyway!! :) Loved my experience buying from GGG and I'm sending my trail buddies the link to this site immediately.

Love this umbrella. Light weight, cuts the sun & heat!!! I purchased 3 as gifts for friends. It's really sunny in Ca. They love them!

Garage Grown Gear is hands down the best place to get ultralight gear. Their service is great, the brands they carry are amazing. This a great company for the backpacking community.

We purchased 2 sit pads about 6 months ago to use during our winter outings. I believe I reviewed them positively shortly after getting them but now that we've had them longer I want to review again and say I LOVE THEM! We don't only use them in the winter, they are so light we take them everywhere and it makes it easy to find a sit spot, even where we hike: off trail, sharp rocks, etc. They also seem pretty durable, they stood up to our abuse so far. I just ordered 4 more, to give a couple as gifts and to have backups for when we finally break them. I'm glad I found these.

Great equipment selection - some really specialized stuff, that's hard to find. Then excellent customer service to back it all up! Highly recommend.

I love this shop so much. It's so important to support smaller businesses and to have a small business dedicated to this mission is incredible. The gear and food are high quality, and I always feel confident in my purchases. I also really appreciate the vegan food section. How could you not buy gear after seeing Lloyd. Knowledgeable and affable. The gear is legit as I’ve used everything I’ve purchased on the AT. AND GGG supports small businesses. A win all the way around.

I have been re-tooling my gear for the summer of 2025. Garage Grown Gear was a company that I was aware of when it first started. I was hoping that they would flourish and here they are. Great prices, selection of gear and just a great service. Love them!!!!

the Entire process was outstanding and left me with a strong sense of confidence about Garage Grown Gear. Aside from the actual products (which hit every expectation I had)...shopping with GGG made me feel good.... I don't think I have ever said that about a retail experience!!!

Everything was shipped to the UK very quickly and securely! Got a little note from "Cam" thanking me for my order and also found a garlic pizza packet in my order(?) I don't know if that was intentional or from Cam's lunch? Either way it made me chuckle... I don't know what to do with it haha.
I would like it if GGG could look into talking to their clothing suppliers into having larger size options (I'm a size 20UK) then I can definately see myself spending a couple hundred more on this site in the future!

I seriously love GGG. They carry super solid gear from small brands you don’t see everywhere. Everything I’ve ordered has been top quality, and their team is just awesome. Great service, fast shipping, and they actually care. It’s one of the few places today that still feels personal.

I have ordered and have been appreciative of the attention to detail received from GGG. I recently had an issue with an order and for 2 days I have not received any response. Checked Spam, etc. Having a toll free number would be helpful.

Great store for finding gear and food for backpacking. Good customer service and quick shipments makes for a happy camper.
