Samaya specializes in single-wall tents, which have a single layer between the interior and the outside environment. This design reduces the weight and folded volume of the tent by greatly reducing the amount of fabric needed to build the tent, which allows you to be lighter and move faster with less fatigue, or to carry other necessary equipment.

To maintain the same properties as double-wall tents, this type of design requires the use of technically advanced textiles. Single-wall tents customarily use breathable-waterproof membrane fabrics to ensure protection from the outside environment and to dispel the vapor emitted by the user. The porosity and air permeability of these membranes also allow for the regeneration of indoor air and the maintenance of a comfortable and safe ecosystem for users.

Samaya designed & created their proprietary Nanovent® fabric technology using an optimized electrospinning technique. Specific adjustments of polyurethane nanofilaments allow air to pass through the membrane while also ensuring high waterproofing.

The core of this 3-layer laminated fabric is the Nanovent® membrane: this nanometric filter guarantees air renewal as well as high waterproofing and breathability. An outer layer of hydrophobic MicroRipstop 7D Nylon allows a fluid flow of water and a very low rate of water absorption on the external face, and an inner layer of hydrophilic 10D Nylon limits the formation of drops inside the tent.

This technology enables Samaya to offer the most versatile tents on the market thanks to its lightness and compactness. This membrane adapts perfectly to the environment in which it is located, guaranteeing flawless waterproofing and optimum condensation management.



Dyneema® Composite Fabric is a laminated textile made of UHMWPE fiber monofilaments superimposed at 90° to one another to provide the fabric's mechanical qualities, enabling it to contain any tearing in the event of perforation. Depending on the qualities and performance required, the composite is adapted to suit the application.

Dyneema® Composite Fabric was chosen by Samaya for the floors of their tents because of its exceptional properties. The inner layer of Dyneema® filaments are sandwiched between two sheets of Mylar®, which hold the fabric together, providing excellent abrasion resistance and an unprecedented 20,000 mm of waterproofing. In addition to its performance, this material is easily repairable, extending the life of Samaya products.



Dyneema® Composite Fabric with ePTFE membrane


The walls of the Samaya RADICAL1 & ASSAUT2 ULTRA are made of a 2-layer laminated fabric combining Dyneema® Composite Fabric and an ePTFE membrane. This fabric is unique to Samaya and combines waterproofing, breathability, and extreme lightness.

The Dyneema® filaments on the outer part of the fabric are arranged at 90° to each other to lend the fabric their extreme mechanical strength. The ePTFE (Expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene) membrane on the inner layer is the result of stretching PTFE, a linear polymer. This microporous structure allows water molecules to pass through in the gaseous state, thus allowing a breathability score of 40,000 g/m²/24h, while not allowing water in the liquid state to penetrate at all with a waterproofness of 20,000 mm. The walls are therefore naturally water-repellent and hydrophobic thanks to the Polyester coating, but also thanks to the very low natural water absorption rate of Dyneema® (water absorption in 24 hours for HMWPE is less than 0.01% - ASTM D570).
