Appalachian Gear Company is an outdoor lifestyle company specializing in performance-based clothing and equipment manufactured in the United States. They combine 45 years in the textile industry with countless miles logged on trails across the country to introduce innovative products that provide performance and value while minimizing environmental impact.
John Gage and Mike Hawkins started their careers with different Fortune 500 textile manufacturing companies and, for over 25 years, they've been friends and business partners in various entrepreneurial endeavors. They've developed and produced fabrics for different industries and many well-known apparel brands. They developed All-Paca™ fabric because they wanted to prove that there were new and better fabrics yet to be developed based on natural fibers. Appalachian Gear Company's All-Paca fabric is the first-ever lightweight knitted technical garment made from 100% alpaca fiber that can be laundered.
Appalachian Gear Company is committed to sustainable domestic manufacturing. Their products are knitted, finished, and sewn in the U.S. Due to the nature of their patent-pending process, the fabric & garments are produced by color in small batches to ensure they meet Appalachian Gear Co.'s high standards for quality. They also do all of their own research & development.
