In 2012, Power Practical was started when founders, David and Paul, were sitting around a campfire. They realized that only a small fraction of the campfire's energy was keeping them warm and the rest disappeared into the sky. This inspired them to find a way to do something useful with this wasted energy. Using their background in material science engineering, they founded Power Practical, a company that specializes in portable power and lighting.
With the help of investment funding from the Shark Tank’s Mark Cuba, Power Practical went on to design the best-selling Luminoodle. This flexible LED light string is waterproof and USB powered. Hang it from a tree, drape it over a tent, use it as a lantern or take sweet time-lapse photos. The opportunities are endless.
