It's a new edition of The Cache, your bi-weekly roundup for all things ultralight. New gear, new brands, interesting events, curious conversations, sales, giveaways, and just about anything and everything that we find remotely relevant. This week we look at: Cnoc Cold Soak Bags, Will ‘Akuna’ Robinson, JC Penny, and The Original Mountain Marathon!

New Product: 1L Cnoc Cold Soak Bag

While their recently relaunched Kickstarter has been getting all of the attention, Cnoc has quietly released another new product, The 1L Cold Soak Bag! Ditch the Talenti jar and rehydrate your meals in a malleable, reusable, and highly storable bag. Brilliant!

Congrats: Will ‘Akuna’ Robinson

A big congratulations to Will ‘Akuna’ Robinson on the completion of his triple crown. In doing so, Akuna becomes the first African American man to ever complete a successful thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and Continental Divide Trail. A Humdinger: JC Penny Launches Outdoor Line

In an attempt to save its struggling sales and depleting customer base, JC Penny announces the launch of its own house brand of outdoor apparel: St. John’s Bay Outdoor. Additionally, the department store dinosaur will introduce 100 outdoor shops into its stores across the country. Curious!

A Brand to Know: OMM

An outdoor gear/apparel brand and a super badass mountain marathon, this UK brand makes some incredibly light, sophisticated and fun apparel and gear. Their products are meant to perform and move with the activities you love, and if you are ok with handling some less than ideal custom's fees, you'll be wildly impressed.
