Behind the Scenes: Meet Our Remote Team & See Where We Work!

Grit (Amy's Blog)Amy Hatch

In celebration of Small Business Saturday, we want to give you a behind-the-scenes tour of Garage Grown Gear. We’re a small team of four people each living in different states: Minnesota, Idaho, Montana and Colorado. We work off of cloud-based platforms, like Shopify, Mailchimp and Basecamp. And, our inventory lives in our CEO’s basement. We love playing outside and make exploring wild places a priority.

We met each other through a series of serendipitous events. Our founder, Amy Hatch, first connected with our now CEO, Lloyd Vogel, after he won one of GGG’s giveaways. We met our CTO, Brooks Bostick, while he was working out of a public library during a visit to the Tetons. And, we hooked up with our CFO, Sean Groth, through the ultimate small-world grapevine that started with a chairlift conversation.

We all have other jobs on the side to cover the expense of daily living, making GGG both a passion project and long-term investment for each of us.

We’re all deeply committed to seeing small businesses thrive (both GGG and the 50+ startups we collaborate with and feature). We believe in spurring along the outdoor gear version of the "Farm to Table" movement. And we’re driven by an overarching goal to get people outside (because when you get that cool, new piece of gear you immediately head out the door to use it – we call it "the gear bump.”)

Thank you for being part of our community and joining us on this journey! Here’s to supporting startups and shopping small!

Cheers,

Amy, Lloyd, Sean and Brooks

P.S. Sean doesn't actually work in an outhouse. That's what happens when you forget to send in a photo of your workspace.

Hey GGG team. LOVE this! as a Graphic Designer, I always find it cool to see others at home workspaces. Also, it is a goal of mine to become a digital nomad!
Cheers!
